Jaudi
Customer Remittance App - NEW SCREENS TO BE UPDATED
Overview and role
Jaudi functions within the heavily regulated remittance and cross-border payments sector. The system accommodates both:
Agents (financial operators/field personnel) who configure, administer, and monitor money transfer routes, country pairings, processors, risk assessments, and compliance metrics.
End-users (senders/receivers) utilising the mobile application to initiate transfers, monitor status, manage beneficiaries, and review transaction history.
My goal was to unify and elevate the experience across Jaudi’s ecosystem by designing a mobile app that feels effortless, trustworthy, and human. I led the end-to-end design of the app — from onboarding through to transaction tracking — with a clear focus on speed, clarity, and trust. Every interaction was crafted to help users send money internationally in under 60 seconds, transforming a once-complex process into a streamlined, confidence-building journey.
“Stakeholders want the speed of modern remittance—without losing control, compliance, or user trust.”
Streamline how Jaudi’s stakeholders — compliance teams, operators, and partner banks — configure and oversee international transfers, while preserving the transparency and trust users expect.
Born out of this shared objective, our flows were designed to unify operational precision with simplicity for both agents and end-users:
KYC is foundational, not frictional. We introduced a guided three-step verification (ID upload, selfie match, address validation) that builds compliance confidence while maintaining flow continuity.
Transfers are fast, traceable, and transparent. Each step — from choosing a recipient to confirming a transaction — was optimised to minimise decision time and reduce human error, with real-time rate and fee updates baked in.
Control without complexity. Stakeholders can see every key point in the transaction journey, ensuring oversight without overengineering the user experience.
We set out to design a system that makes compliance, efficiency, and trust work together, not against each other — one that allows Jaudi’s partners to scale safely while enabling users to send money confidently in under 60 seconds.
I designed Jaudi's main flows based on three principles: speed, openness, and trust. I did this after talking to stakeholders and looking at the competition to figure out what users needed. The mobile app takes users through a smooth send-money process, from KYC verification to transaction completion, making sure that all regulatory requirements are met without causing any problems. Each flow was set up to help both first-time users who need help and regular senders who want things to go quickly. There were clear progress indicators and information that was only given when it was needed.
Making KYC Feel Human, Not Bureaucratic
Identity verification is where most fintech apps lose users. Instead of immediately demanding documents, Jaudi's KYC introduction explains why verification is needed in plain language and shows exactly what to expect:
"Upload ID → Take selfie."
Users know what's coming and why it matters, reducing anxiety and drop-off.
Eliminating the "Where's My Money?" Anxiety
After sending money, users are left wondering if it went through and when it will arrive. The transaction timeline shows exactly where money is in real-time—from initiation to currency conversion to delivery—with timestamps at each milestone. Users no longer need to contact support to check status.
Fee Transparency Before Commitment
Hidden fees are the #1 complaint in remittance. Jaudi's Review & Pay screen shows the complete breakdown upfront: sending amount, currency fee, payment method fee, exchange rate, and exact recipient amount. Everything is visible before confirmation—no surprises, no hidden costs.
Security Without Complexity
Password management creates friction and lockouts. Jaudi uses biometric passkeys (fingerprint/Face ID) for authentication, educating users on the security benefit while keeping setup simple: one button, one action. Faster login, stronger security, zero password friction.

Early validation results
Initial usability testing with 24 participants showed strong confidence in the transaction flow and KYC process. The 58-second average transaction time met our design goal, while 89% rated fee transparency as "clear" or "very clear." These insights validated core design decisions around progressive disclosure, just-in-time KYC, and upfront cost visibility—establishing a strong foundation for launch.

Conclusion
Jaudi represents a comprehensive approach to cross-border remittance—balancing regulatory compliance with user experience through careful design and strategic partnerships. By applying User-Centered Design principles from the ground up, the mobile app delivers fast, transparent money transfers without sacrificing trust or security. The integration with Cybrid's infrastructure enables seamless KYC, wallet management, and stablecoin transactions while keeping the interface simple and accessible.
The design system, user flows, and interface patterns established a strong foundation for Jaudi's entry into the UK-Africa remittance market, with planned expansion to the US.
Our next steps include launching the MVP, gathering real-world usage data to refine the experience, expanding recipient management capabilities, and building additional features like recurring transfers, multi-currency wallets, and enhanced transaction analytics. We're also exploring partnerships to reduce transfer costs further and increase corridor coverage across Africa and beyond.
